The creative and adventurous spirit of Justin Daniel Norman, 38, of Eugene, Oregon, has left this world on October 8, 2025, in SeaTac, Washington. Authorities confirmed his passing was the result of asphyxia by hanging, ruled a suicide, with the incident taking place at a hotel on 19260 28th Ave South.
Justin was known for his exceptional artistry, his warmth, and his passion for life’s creative pursuits. A gifted tattoo artist, he worked at Supergenius Tattoo and Leavenworth Traditional Tattoos in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, where his steady hand and artistic eye left lasting impressions on countless clients and friends. Those who knew him say his tattoos carried as much soul as they did precision.
Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, Justin attended South Eugene High School before later studying Eco and Adventure Tourism at OSU-Cascades. He was also a Summit High graduate. In recent years, he lived in Edmonds, Washington, where he continued to balance his two lifelong passions — tattooing and snowboarding.
A longtime member of the Tactics snowboarding family, Justin’s dedication to the slopes was not just about sport but about survival and self-expression. He once shared,
“Survival in my mind is adapting to our surroundings and finding ways to rise up through the dark times in order to find happiness.”
That philosophy defined how Justin approached both art and life — pushing boundaries, embracing challenges, and inspiring others through creativity.
In his reflections about snowboarding, Justin described it as “learning how to fall” — a metaphor that resonated deeply with those who admired his resilience. Whether carving new lines down the Washington Cascades or painting ink onto skin, he found beauty in motion and purpose in passion.
Friends and clients alike are mourning his loss. Savannah Slone wrote,
“Justin Norman was an incredible human being and I’m devastated to hear of this loss. Thank you for all the tattoos and all of the kindness over the years, sweet friend. Thank you for being so good to my kid and family. Rest easy.”
Justin’s life was one of artistry, adventure, and authenticity. His snowboarding projects, creative tattoos, and artistic reflections will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him.
He is remembered not only for his skill but for his kindness, humor, and gentle encouragement to others to find their own “state of flow” — that pure moment of focus, peace, and joy he so often sought.
May Justin’s creative soul find eternal peace among the mountains and the skies he so deeply loved.
Rest in peace, Justin Norman (1987–2025).
