Sam’s passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who loved them — a young life filled with creativity, kindness, and a deep sense of authenticity gone too soon.
Born on October 16, 2005, Sam was known for their selflessness, humor, and originality. To everyone who had the privilege of knowing them, Sam radiated light, laughter, and compassion — qualities that made them unforgettable.
Their father, Tim Walbridge, shared an emotional tribute that captured the love and pain felt across the community:
“There are not enough words, in any language that can come close to expressing the pain we are feeling.
Sam, you are — and will always be — pure joy to those who had the honor of knowing you.
Selfless. Caring. Creative. Funny. Above all, unapologetically you.
You taught us how to be real in a world that tries to make us anything but.
I’m so sorry I couldn’t quiet the voices that told you otherwise. I really tried.
Love you. Mean it.”
In another heartfelt post, Tim wrote:
“Rest now, sweet child. You are loved. The bond you shared with those around you was beautiful to watch. You stayed for us — just a little longer. But oh please, just one more day…”
Sam’s favorite quote, from Billie Eilish’s “Everything I Wanted,” was shared in remembrance — a reflection of both their sensitivity and the quiet struggles they carried:
“If I could change the way that you see yourself, you wouldn’t wonder why you hear, ‘They don’t deserve you.’”
Friends and family describe Sam as a vibrant and creative soul — someone who cared deeply for animals, people, and the world around them. In lieu of flowers, the Walbridge family has asked that donations be made in Sam’s name to local animal shelters, a cause close to their heart.
